GINGA 'N' ROLL
Brazilian Martial Arts

GINGA’N’ROLL – Heart of Brazilian Culture

GINGA’N’ROLL reflects the heart of Brazilian culture: musicality, balance, fun, and flexibility in all moments of life. That means sometimes ‘thinking outside the box’ when you get stuck. Here at the GINGA‘N’ROLL studio, we want to show you that Capoeira and Jiu-Jitsu are more than just a philosophy of movements, strategies, and resilience.

In our family-like atmosphere, we continually strive to offer anyone who wants to begin one of these two sports a unique experience here in Braunschweig. We highlight the additional benefits that will positively affect your daily life – whether physically, motorically, or mentally.

GINGA’N‘ROLL is pronounced “jin-ga en roll” (like Rock’n’Roll), where GINGA is the fundamental Capoeira movement and ROLL (rolling) is the foundation in Jiu-Jitsu.

White – Back to the roots.

Yes, we train entirely in white. For us, this has special meaning. In Capoeira, the white uniform, called Abadá, remains a symbol of purity to this day. In Jiu-Jitsu and Judo, the Gi was originally always white for the same reason. To honor these roots, we aim to strengthen and continue this tradition.

Additionally, white clothing offers often overlooked advantages for athletes’ hygiene and health, which are priorities for us. Feel free to ask us if you’d like to learn more.

Individual Progress

We follow the official grading system of both sports and record each student’s development through belts (BJJ) and cords (Capoeira). Every student is assessed and supported individually. Along with the ongoing acquisition of standard techniques for every level, it’s not about ‘being better than the other person,’ because in martial arts, the goal is to face your own challenges.

Everyone has their own unique goal and fights their own fight. For some, it means losing 10 kg, for others, it’s entering a first competition, and yet for others, staying fit as they get older. These personal goals can also change over time.

We regularly organize large seminars in both sports with international guests, coaches, and Mestres, also from other groups, who come to Braunschweig from around the world. We place great importance on the continual development of our students and coaches, especially with these highlights of international and intercultural exchange.

It’s never too late to start – feel free to come by for a trial training session! Contact

Support for Talented Athletes

We also have a support program for exceptionally outstanding athletes from our home country of Brazil, which assists them with entry fees, travel costs to competitions, and training equipment. In doing so, we’d like to give something back in gratitude for all we have received.

Currently, we are supporting:
